A Massage Career is not for Wimps
We know that being touched is essential for good mental and physical health. Bodymechanics School of Massage owner Shari Aldrich explains why!
Monday Morning Magic, June 20, 2022 — Truth be told, I have always wanted to be a massage therapist. I received my first certification in 1993 from a school in San Anselmo, CA called Alive & Well: Institute of Conscious Bodywork. But my desire to be a writer was the path I choose to pursue for the next three decades. Fast forward to 2021. After raising two kids, getting divorced, and rethinking what I want for this second act in my life I found myself where I started all those years ago.
With tremendous pride and gratitude: I am thrilled to report that as of June 2, 2022, I am a graduate of the Bodymechanics School of Massage in Santa Fe, NM. I couldn’t have accomplished this goal without the support and guidance of my teachers, and the founder of Bodymechanics, Shari Aldrich. It is my pleasure to feature all of these amazing bodyworkers in the June-July issue of BeInkandescent.com. In our video and podcast interview of the month, you’ll meet Shari and learn why she is on a mission to help 1 million people get out of pain by 2025. You’ll also hear about her powerful journey — and why she believes, A Massage Career is not for Wimps. Check out the issue: BeInkandescent.com.
Inspiration — Massage School Memoire: Being part of the Bodymechanics community inspired me to turn the columns I wrote about my 10-month school experience into a book, Massage School Memoire — 10 Months that Changed my Life. Read it chapter by chapter in the Books in the Works section of InkandescentPublishing.com. Learn more about that in next week’s Monday Morning Magic newsletter. We leave you with this parting thought that Shari shared on Facebook by LadyGang producer Jac Vanek: “You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the dreams you have, the conversations you engage in. You are what you take from these. You are the sound of the ocean, the breath of fresh air, the brightest light, and the darkest corner. You are a collective of every experience you have had in your life. So, drown yourself in the sea of knowledge and existence. Let the words run through your veins and let the colors fill your mind.” Click here to discover more at bodymechanics-school.com.
Until next Monday: May you enjoy the magical healing power of touch today, and every day of your life. — Hope Katz Gibbs, founder, and president, Inkandescent® Inc. Inkandescent.us
