Monday Morning Magic, Feb. 7, 2022: I can’t think of a better way to ring in the month of love than by featuring a collection of soft, sexy art-inspired dresses you won’t want to take off, by California-based fashion designer and dressmaker Vecani Ramírez.
“I have the power to transform all of my hardships into beauty and strength,” believes Vecani, who began her business in Southern CA more than a decade ago to support her son. “At the time, I didn’t know exactly what I’d do to make a living. What I did know was that I could sew really well, and that I had a flair for what looks good on a woman’s body. Mostly, I knew my dresses would make women feel beautiful. What more is there?”
Inspired by Frida: In the years since, Vecani has added powerful designs to her collection. One of the most popular series features feminist icon Frida Kahlo, who Mexican-born Vecani believes “is unquestionably one of my country’s greatest artists. I love that she was a vocal political activist who created self-portraits that exemplify her strength and determination.”
Be the talk of the town: “Now, perhaps more than ever, is the perfect time to wear Frida proudly on a hand-painted dress,” insists Vecani, who is selling her unique one-of-a-kind dresses in our Inkandescent Shop: The Good Stuff for Women, Wellness, and Kids. “My dresses are silk screened, ice dyed and embroidered before I put on the finishing hand-painted touches.” See Vecani’s designs here.
Vecani and I leave you this week with a parting thought to help celebrate love, life, and your deep inner knowing: “Surround yourself with the dreamers, and the doers, the believers, and thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see the greatness within you, even when you don’t see it yourself.” — Edmund Lee
Until next Monday, here’s to your incredible, indelible, Inkandescent™ success. — Hope Katz Gibbs, founder, Inkandescent PR + Publishing Co.
